We’ve become known for our high quality special effects make-up, creatures and prosthetics, being called upon for movies, museums, military, and independent artists. Creating mechanical special effects for film was the foundation on which our company began. We’ve expanded over the years from providing pyrotechnics, snow, fog, rain, breakaway glass, and other mechanical effects, to special effects make-up, creature and character effects and prosthetics. These effects have been created for a variety of industries beyond film including disaster training and simulations, museums, zoos, and other themed attractions, live events, performing arts, and advertising.

Our fabrication arm began in response to demand for creative and high quality themed exhibits and props, some with a special effects component, and all displaying our unique attention to detail. We create props, sculptures, 2D and 3D signage, parade floats, and themed exhibits for ad agencies, museums, airports, zoos, film and TV productions, performing arts companies, corporations, photographers, event planners, and educational institutions. Our work has won awards for clients, including the float we designed and built for Air Canada for the 2010 Calgary Stampede Parade. The float won Celebrities Choice Award and Best Corporate Float and in 2012 won a Most Creative Entry award. In 2015 the Alberta Motor Association parade float, designed and fabricated by Bleeding Art won 2nd prize for Best Corporate Entry and 3rd prize for Most Creative Entry.

Complementing our special effects work is the line of products that we sell (and actively use). We manufacture our own bloods and prosthetic appliances and represent other high quality suppliers of special effects, film and related production supplies and equipment. You can also find our bloods and some other BAI products at retailers including Theatre Garage, The Costume Shoppe, Chuckles, and Just Imagine. Merchandise tied to our creative content production is also available for sale. Customers can shop from our online store 24/7 at If you’re going to the store from this website via the menu items at the top, click on the three small horizontal bars to see the full list of product categories on your left.

Over the years we’ve built up an impressive and varied selection of industrial, high quality special effects equipment that is available for rent to qualified professionals. We actively use special effects equipment in the field, so we know what works and what doesn’t. All of our rental equipment is used and recommended by professionals in the industry so you know you’re getting the best for the effects you’re trying to achieve. If you are an agency or company interested in stop motion animation for branded content or commercial spots we’d love to show you what we can do. Our mechanical special effects talent and capabilities bring a uniquely creative spark to the story you want to tell about your product. Combining it with our award-winning fabrication, film-making and creative vision, we produce fun, entertaining and thought-provoking concepts that pop outside the box. Samples of some of our corporate work are available on our You Tube channel here, specifically 5 stop motion animated videos we created for social media and client Critical Mass for their client Greenworks.

Our creative content division began with the formation of Skeleton Girl Productions and the creation of Skeleton GirlCanada’s first 3D stereoscopic digital stop motion animated short film that premiered in April 2012 at New York’s Be Film The Underground Film Festival, where it won “Best First 3D Film”. Skeleton Girl was the result of successfully merging our creative design, special effects, fabrication, and production expertise, accumulated over years of work in the theatre and film industries.

Skeleton Girl screened at 12 film festivals around the world for close to two years. It was also selected as one of nine top short films in Canada to compete in CBC’s Short Film Face Off in 2013. A 2D Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Pack is now available by clicking here. For more information on Skeleton Girl, visit It is now available with Chinese sub-titles on our You Tube Channel.

Mary and The Looking Glass, our next 3D stop motion animated film in the Twisted Tales for Demented Children anthology is currently in development. In the meantime, we took a little break from the Twisted Tales to create The River, a whimsical, Monty Python-esque 3D stop motion animation to The Arrogant Worms’ song River of Snot, available for your viewing pleasure in 2D here on our You Tube channel. It is also now available in 3D on the 3Doo platform, available on 3D Smart TV’s and Android mobile devices.

In late 2012 we also designed and created a full creature for The Hunt, a short film produced by Greg Jeffs and Spencer Estabrooks of Insurrection Films. The film saw its debut at Scotland’s Film4 in 2013 and was chosen as the top short film of 2013 by Rue Morgue Magazine. Keep updated via
